We’re delighted to be able to announce that on the 10th December 44901 moved to Sharpness Engine Shed, the current home of the fledgling Vale of Berkeley Railway, where we soon hope to be able to start her restoration.
For the last few years she’s been safely stored away until a suitable home could be found. Moving her to Sharpness will give us access to excellent engineering facilities which will be essential for the restoration work.
The Vale of Berkeley Railway is an exciting new project which aims to restore the old Sharpness Station and run heritage trains along the existing branch line from Sharpness to Berkeley. They’ve currently setup an engineering and restoration facility in the docks old diesel shunter shed.
